Multicoin Capital 是一支专门投资加密资产（如比特币、以太币和其它很多规模较小的替代币种）。我们会通过参与公开市场流动，让投资者享受到风险投资的回报。
我们之间的故事
我们两人大约10年相识于纽约大学。 尽管我们当时在学习金融专业，但都对科技更感兴趣。
下面看一下我们自2010年以来的一些往来邮件：
我们两人是在2008年至2012年就读纽约大学。 在那期间我们观察了移动应用的第一波爆发浪潮—Foursquare、GroupOn、Instagram、Twitter等等。 科技领域令我们痴迷。在毕业之前，我觉得放弃寻常的金融从业之路，转投计算工程领域，之后在得克萨斯州奥斯汀（从事医疗IT行业）的VersaSuite做过销售和产品经理。Tushar毕业后搬到奥斯汀，加入 VersaSuite 公司。
毕业一年后，我们离开了VersaSuite，分别开始创业：我创立了Pristine（为医疗专业人士提供Google Glass应用）；Tushar创建了ePatientFinder（利用电子诊疗数据识别和招募病人参加医疗试验）。我们当时是租房室友，在一间有些矮矮的公寓创立了两家不同的公司：

我们两人后来分别获得数以百万美元的风险投资，在两个有趣的领域打造出小有成就的企业。
但金融是我们的老本行，我们从来没丢过这门本事。
我们自2013年起开始投资加密资产。但我们是在2016年初为以太坊的巨大技术愿景而折服，开始真正严肃考虑在加密领域的发展。2016年夏季正是DAO危机发生的时候，但我们加倍下注对ETH的投资。
随着ETH价格在2017年飙升，我们开始从ETH投资收益转投其他更具投机性的加密协议。我们开始向朋友们讲述这些投资。他们往往在做了一两个小时的阅读后，向我们问出同一个问题：
“我能投资什么加密基金？”
因此Multicoin Capital应运而生。
身为企业家，Tushar和我立刻意识到，当脑袋中有了与产品市场高度契合的理念，你立刻奋不顾身去投入其中。
我们在5月初开始全力投入Multicoin的筹备工作，在2017年8月1日进行了第一次收盘。
基金细节
我们确认了加密资产最具前景的用例，在这些用例中认真推敲了团队、项目和社区。我们将通过投资直接竞争项目的方式对冲风险。目前我们持有25种加密资产，意味着我们很可能是当前投资标最多元化的加密基金。
我们的投资理念很简单：
区块链将会影响到全球众多产业中数以万亿美元的经济活动。加密资产的供应量有限；需求增加则会推高价格。面对动荡极大、价格多变的这一资产类别，基金多元化是管理风险敞口的最有效途径。我们为投资者提供三种价值：
1) 基础研究—我们对加密资产采取技术至上的研究原则。我们深入挖掘项目的白皮书，审查其技术、经济原理、游戏规则等。我们寻找的是能改写全球商业世界中主流类别格局的项目和协议，投资那些能满足我们定量和定性指标的协议。我们密切监控市场，根据信息动态和市场条件变化来调整我们的仓位。
2) 安全—我们所有的私钥都是冷存储。这意味着（实际控制资产的）私钥从来不会接触互联网。另外我们还在所有加密资产中采用自有的多重签名技术，甚至包括那些在原生协议层并不支持多重签名的币种。
3) 仓位调整—我们每个月进行仓位平衡。考虑到我们采用冷存储，这一任务尤为艰巨。
我们很乐意重点推介参加Multicoin第一次收盘的两位知名投资人：
David Johnston 2012年开始投资比特币。他在2013年参与创立了比特币领域的第一家天使投资集团BitAngels，后者在全球扩大到拥有超过500名成员。2013年稍晚， David撰写了《去中心化应用通用理论》（The General Theory of Decentralized Applications）白皮书，后者定义了打造类似比特币的其它区块链项目的模式 （为以太坊及其它许许多多项目奠定了基石）。他在2014年推出全球第一支加密资产风险投资基金Dapps Fund。 该基金在24个月时间内带来超过8倍回报。他之后与他人联合创立Factom （一家颇具知名度的加密项目，其代币总市值超过1.5亿美元），他目前仍担任该项目董事长。Factom公司拥有约40名员工，融到了900万美元风投资金。另外David 还投资了Multicoin Capital普通合伙基金，并加入其董事会。
Joshua Baer 是一位连续创业者，也是奥斯汀最大的共享办公和科技孵化器Capital Factory的创始人兼执行董事 。Josh运营着Capital Factory 旗下多支风投基金，据权威数据统计机构PitchBook称，他是自2013年以来得克萨斯州最为活跃的早期阶段投资人。
