SKALE 团队 SKALE 是我共事的最全能的团队之一。 团队的 CEO， Jack O’Holleran 是一个非常谦逊和经验丰富的企业级软件即服务（SaaS）企业家，在担任 Good Technology 高管期间，他促使该企业获得了数亿美元的收购。他还创办了很多高科技初创公司，这些公司相继获得大量风险投资，并创造可观的权益价值。Jack 同时也是一个经验丰富的经营者：他不仅有产品领导力，在筹集资金过程也做得很出色，同时还招募了一支全明星级的副总（VP）团队来负责各职能部门的工作。 团队的 CTO，Stan Kladko 是物理学博士，在过去的十年间，他创办了大量科创公司并担任技术领导，同时他还是以太坊社区最为著名的技术领导之一。以太坊社区很多人不认识“Stan”，但都认识 kladkogex——这是他在 ETHResearch 论坛上的名称。他组建了一支由工程师、数学家和加密经济安全专家组成的出色团队来开发 SKALE。他还为 SKALE 团队招募了一批数学家、物理学家和计算机科学奥林匹克大赛获奖者。
架构 Stan 在 Vitalik 和 Joseph 发表 plasma 论文原稿的不久，就意识到在 plasma 链运行 EVM 的挑战，并于 2017 年 12 月开始认真研究 SKALE。 在版本 1，SKALE 是一个16 节点 plasma 区块链，它使用无领导拜占庭容错（BFT）共识算法来达成共识。考虑到所有 plasma 链的验证集数量是有限的，因此 plasma 链既是异步又是无领导的就非常重要。该算法是完全异步的，并且不像 Honey Badger BFT，SKALE 链共识是无领导的，该特点在设置小验证集尤为重要。另外由于其无领导特性，对那些受制于“矿工必须追求最大利益”的应用程序来说，这是一个最佳选择，特别是链上去中心交易所（on-chain DEX）。 虽然每条 SKALE 链是相互独立的，但它们都受益于“每一条链都是更广泛SKALE 网络的一部分”这个事实：所有 SKALE 网络上的节点都充当类似波卡多激励的 渔夫（fishermen），它们监督自身以外的 SKALE 链以确保验证节点都诚实地执行工作。这一点会让系统更加强大，能更好地应对拜占庭验证节点，并创造网络效应（开发者也希望有大量的“渔夫”来监督 SKALE 链的验证节点）。 需要注意的是 SKALE 首先支持以太坊，但它不限于以太坊。基于其它区块链的开发者也需要相同的 layer 2 扩容方案，SKALE 团队旨在及时为他们提供服务。该做法会反哺 SKALE 网络效应，为 SKALE 网络的现有用户提高质量：对 SKALE 链的需求越大（不管该需求来源何处）SKALE 网络都会变得更大，更快，更便宜和更安全。 SKALE 团队将会加接下来的几周，向感兴趣的开发者发布更多技术文档。
愿景：Layer 2 即服务 在我和 Jack 的第一次对话中，他就让我明白了 SKALE 的终极愿景：程序开发者应当做到一键开发一条 plasma 链，同时可以设定任意数量的参数：节点数量、共识算法、状态交换机、plasma链从中获取安全性的底层区块链、节点的地理分布、每个节点的硬件需求等。并且一旦开发人员开发了一条链，通过类似 New Relic 或 AppDynamics 等监控服务，他们能够实时监控该链的健康状况。 现在我们离那个愿景还有很长的路，但 Jack 是对的。所有 plasma 链的复杂性能都会被提取出来。世界各地将会有一个电脑集群，它们运行 plasma 链，同时 APP 开发者可以指定所需参数。该电脑集群将会提供一个巨大的网络效应：当开发人员可以随意从全球验证池挑选验证节点的时候，他们就想更多的选择、更大的验证节点集、更分散的地理位置、更多的“渔夫”。 就像 Twilio 将短信服务（SMS）变成一行应用程序接口（API），Stripe 将信用卡支付变成一行代码——SKALE 将会让 Layer 2 成为开发人员易于使用的服务。 能够支持 Jack、Stan 和 SKALE 团队的其他成员，我们感到非常激动。
